Does the Clavicular Stack actually work for looksmaxxing or is it overhyped?
The Clavicular Stack keeps coming up in threads here and I want to write an honest breakdown instead of letting hype drive the conversation.
What Is It?
The "Clavicular Stack" (named after the Clavicular peptide protocol) typically includes:
- Retatrutide β triple agonist (GLP-1, GIP, glucagon receptor). The most powerful GLP-1 class agent available. Drives aggressive fat loss.
- Cagrilintide β amylin analogue. Stacks with GLP-1s synergistically. Early trials showed ~25% body weight reduction over 68 weeks when combined with semaglutide.
- GHK-Cu β copper peptide. Stimulates collagen synthesis, wound healing, hair follicle activity. Most studied for skin and hair.
- BPC-157 β gut and tendon healing. Reduces systemic inflammation. Used extensively in recovery protocols.
Looksmaxxing Relevance
Fat loss / facial structure: Retatrutide + Cagrilintide is the most effective body recomp stack you can run outside of anabolics. Dropping body fat reveals bone structure, reduces buccal fat volume, sharpens the jawline and cheekbones. For most people this is the highest-leverage single thing they can do for facial aesthetics short of surgery.
Skin: GHK-Cu has legitimate research behind it. Meta-analyses show improvements in skin density, fine line depth, and elasticity. It's not magic β it's a collagen stimulator. Combine it with tretinoin and the effects compound.
Hair: GHK-Cu shows positive data for hair follicle stimulation. Not finasteride-level efficacy but meaningful as an adjunct.
Recovery: BPC-157 accelerates training recovery, allowing higher training volume β which feeds back into better body composition.
Is It Overhyped?
The fat loss effects are not overhyped β they're backed by clinical data. Retatrutide phase 2 trials showed 24% body weight reduction over 48 weeks. That is extraordinary.
The skin and hair effects are real but moderate and take 3β6 months to fully manifest.
Bottom Line
Not overhyped on the fat loss side. Moderately hyped on the skin/hair side. The combination effect (leaner face + better skin texture) does produce real aesthetic improvements that you'd notice in photos.
Good writeup. One thing I'd add on the facial structure point: the effect is more dramatic if you're starting from 18β22% BF than if you're already at 14%. Guys in the latter category will see less dramatic structural change because the buccal fat is already reduced.
For the former group β people who are "skinny fat" or carrying extra facial softness β this stack can genuinely be transformative in terms of revealed facial structure. Not because it changed your bones, but because it got out of the way.
What about the risks? You glossed over side effects. Nausea, gallstones, muscle loss, pancreatitis β these are all documented with GLP-1 class drugs. And these are research peptides, not pharmaceutical grade. Purity is unknown.
Fair. Risks worth noting:
Nausea β common in the first 4β8 weeks, especially if you titrate too fast. Manageable with slow dose escalation.
Muscle loss β real risk if you don't hit protein targets and maintain training. Not inherent to the peptides β it's a consequence of large caloric deficits. Track protein, keep lifting.
Gallstones β documented with rapid weight loss from any cause. More relevant if you're dropping 20%+ of body weight quickly.
Pancreatitis β flagged in clinical trials but incidence was not statistically elevated vs placebo in the Retatrutide phase 2. Worth knowing but risk is low in otherwise healthy individuals.
Source quality β this is the real variable. Reputable research suppliers do third-party HPLC testing. Garbage sources do not. This is where due diligence matters.
Running this for 10 weeks. The face thing is real. I've taken photos every 2 weeks and the jaw/cheekbone definition change from week 1 to week 10 is genuinely significant. Down 14 lbs, went from ~19% to ~14% BF estimated. My bone structure was always there β it was hiding.
GHK-Cu skin effect β I added this at week 4 and my skin texture has improved noticeably. Pores look smaller, skin looks tighter.
The site most people here use is Apollo via the Clavicular Stack affiliate (clavtides.com has the link). They publish COAs and do HPLC testing. Prices are reasonable and everything comes sealed and labelled. Been using them for 6 months without issues.
Been running the stack for 6 weeks. My main takeaway is that the appetite suppression from Reta + Cagri together is stronger than either alone β I've run sema before and this is noticeably more powerful. Eating at 1600 cal without any hunger is genuinely different from white-knuckling a deficit.
For anyone debating whether it's "worth it" β if your main goal is facial aesthetics and you're above 15% BF, this is the fastest path to revealing your actual structure. The skin effects are a bonus.
